I want to buy real estate, is it possible to register a full ownership for a foreigner?
According to Thailand Law, there are two ways of registering ownership for foreigners:
  • Leasehold — longterm lease for 30 years, with the right to extend it twice: total 90 years (Protected by the Thai Law).
  • Freehold — a full ownership.
  • Or registration of the property through the opening of a Thai company in which the foreigner will be the founder and director (Protected by the Law).
If I have a property in Thailand — how can I get any special visa?
Yes, of course.
There are several types of visa that you can get when buying a property:
  • Business or work visa (visa B). If you purchase real estate as a legal entity, then you can easily get a business visa. Your close relatives (wife/husband, children) can get a longterm family visa.
  • Investment visa (from 10 million baht only).
    Gives an opportunity to conduct business in The Kingdom and obtain a residence permit.
